Hollow to hem is measured from the hollow at the base of the neck to the hem. Length and height are reference values from the standard chart, not a height requirement for every wearer or the finished length of every style.

The below is just a guide. We recommend that whenever possible you get a qualified seamstress to measure your dress size. Always have someone else take the measurements—self-measuring is often inaccurate. Measure with undergarments similar to those you will wear with your dress; do not measure over other clothing.

Bust

This is not your bra size.
Wear an unpadded bra; arms relaxed at your sides.
Measure around the fullest part of your bust.

Waist

Find your natural waist (smallest part).
Usually about 1 in. above the belly button.
Keep the tape slightly loose for comfort.

Hips

Measure the widest part of the hips.
Usually about 7 in. below the natural waist.
Ensure the tape passes across both hipbones.

Height & Hollow to Floor

Stand straight with feet together.
Height: head top to floor (barefoot).
Hollow to Floor: from the hollow at the base of the neck straight down to the floor; measure with your shoes on if you will wear heels.

For short dresses not reaching the floor, measure to the actual hemline of the dress.
